Brief History - So What Have I Been Doing
for the Last
38 Years! |
As for me, after I graduated from BHS
I attended Hunter College in Manhattan and became a registered nurse.
I joined the Navy and was shipped off to that great sea harbor - Millington,
Tenn. Talk about culture shock. After living in Long Island
and 4 years of college in NYC, Millington was quite a different lifestyle.
While there, I met my husband Hap who was
the
foodservice officer in the Naval Hospital.
6 months after we met we got married.
We arrived in Cleveland, Ohio in 1973 (where
we have remained) by way of Orlando, FL, Columbus, OH and Cincinnati, OH.
I earned my Masters and Ph.D. in education. In Cleveland I taught
at a school of nursing and then became the Director of Education &
Training at one of the large teaching hospitals. I was there for 23 years.
5 years ago I got downsized and started my own consulting firm which I
run out of our home. It's been great fun and has allowed me to arrange
my work time around my golf time. I like that allot. I specialized
mostly in management and leadership development, quality improvement and
customer service, so if any of you have a need - let's talk!
My husband owns and ran one of the most
successful restaurants in Cleveland, the Watermark. Our one and only
son, Curtis, age 25 now runs the restaurant since Hap suffered a stroke
in April. Luckily it was mild and the only residual problem he has
is slight slurring of speech when he is tired or when he has been sampling
some wine
Although I am not really retired, I have
cut back quite a bit on my work - if you don't make calls, you don't get
the business. In addition to the
golf, Hap and I like to travel and are
looking forward to the time (in the near future) when we can spend 3-4
months in warm weather during the winter.
